This post is meant to be an “annual report” of sorts for all of our dedicated users to sum up the happenings in ‘08 and to give you an idea of whats in store for ‘09.

2008 was a great year for us since the launch of the vDream Racing Facebook Application! As you all know, we have come a long way through pure blood, sweat, and tears to develop vDream into what it is today. vDream launched in late June with 5 cars, and as it stands today boasts over 20 cars and 1800 parts in our database, each being manually created extraordinary amounts tender loving care. There are over 25,000 challenges sent a day on vDream, and we currently have over 25,000 active users across both MySpace and Facebook who, most importantly, give us insightful feedback on a daily basis. As a topper, we competed in and won the first round of fbFund late last year, which was a proud achievement for the whole team.

So 2008 was a great year for us, but what’s on our plate for 09? The vision for vDream has always been to create a thriving community of car enthusiasts who can interact with each other through a virtual playground of different gaming and community features. In the next few months we will be working on patching up some basic usability issues with our interface to make the simple things like buying your first car and sending challenges easier. Moving forward from there, our focus will be on creating a thriving community by developing a discussion area for our users to talk about and show off their vDreams. We are also going to spend some time throughout the year creating a deeper and more strategic game that includes nuances in the racing, driver experience, and VDI systems. We have gotten a ton of great ideas from the community including custom paint jobs, car shows, decals, and part types that include NOS and tires. These are all things that we believe in, and we will push hard to deliver to our users in ‘09.

Lastly, I want to give a huge shot out to our users. I know I say this all the time, but we are greatly appreciative for all the support. I’d like to take a sec to acknowledge our mods and beta testers who have been working so hard on the boards and making vDream the thriving community that it is.

Thanks for the great app gents of vDream team. I would like to suggest some feature to this game btw that are the ability to sell car to either computer or marketplace where people buying and selling cars to each other and maybe follow up with marketplace for parts? Just incase you have in mind of releasing limited edition parts. And another one is set a car in the garage just for a particular race. Like corvette and viper for drag only or drag and endurance only or maybe all of em.

i would like to see intercoolers, and a selection of fuel parts such as performance injectors and rails along with high flow fuel pumps. also you could incorporate stronger motor mounts and a clutch kit, as well as a short throw shifter. also LSD for transmissions (limited slip differential) for better traction. and you need performance sway bars and ball joints. also for the car show idea u could throw audio systems into the game

vdream is my fav online game =)

i’d really like to have a community feature built right into vdream (a mentioned feature for 2009). as of today there’s discussions in the unofficial forum (underground), on facebook discussions, maybe also on myspace (?), and in the vdream blog attached to each main entry made by the team.

for me that’s too many places. moving all these discussions to a centralized forum can only improve things.

Vdream is deffinately my favorite facebook application, I used to race in three other racing apps and then do a few other apps, now all I do is race in Vdream, ya’ll have made a great game and It has come so far, I remember when I started playing I told myself that I would just play until I had enough to buy the Saleen S7 but then things started to be added to the game at a rapid pace, I joined very shortly after the Dodge Neon was added to the game and have been loving this game ever since, keep up the good work guys I can only wait to see what ya’ll have in store for us this year.

hey lij…we just talked about this stuff too lol, didnt know that u were gonna post it on here haha. oh well congrats vdream on the awesome ‘08 and good luck in ‘09, hopefully i can stay on and see it through but unfortunately I may have to leave for a while…but devs good job and i will look forward to seeing how this app changes in the future

Maybe a classified section? Example: selling parts from previously owned cars still in your parts shed to other vDream users. I think an oil change section would be cool, reminiscent of old school gran turismo 4.

I just raced an ELISE with 1001hp and i lost to it and i drive a lambo….is this a glitch?!!...i dnt think a 1.8L motor can reach that much power..if u find one..please correct me right away hahahah

It is a glitch. It happens when someone sends a challenge with a specific car, and then switches cars in their garage. The car you are challenged with is the one you race, it just displays whatever the stats are of the car that that individual is currently driving.

uhm, converse…. i believe you typed that wrong… 1001 hp? thats bugatti standards… and if you meant 101, the elise doesnt go that low… atleast i dont think it does… and i doubt its a glitch… if you drove a lambo and i had a honda in reality, id still own you, just cuz im a beast of a driver =p

Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait up!!! You mean to tell me that vDream isn’t even 1 year old????? I thought it had been around on Facebook for some time before it came out on Myspace!? Weird! Anyway, I found vDream by chance! Actually, I should say, it was out of boredom and a stroke of luck! LoL I was stuck on playing Mobsters, Mafia Wars, Rockstars, and all those typical Myspace games, but one day, I just by chance, decided to click on the “more apps” button on Myspace. And lo and behold, as I scrolled down the first page (or was it the 2nd page? lol), I seen vDream, so I said F- it! And gave it a shot! Now some 6 months or so later, I’m HOOKED!!!! LoL I’m hooked soo much my wife can’t stand me being on the comptuer cause she knows I’m playing this game! hahahahah :D I’m guessing I came abord a little while after the SRT-4 was introduced? All I know is that I was here waaaaay before the RX-7 came out :)

On a side note, I think a really cool addition to the game would be adding a “tag” somewhere on the picture frame of the car that shows what number Myspace/Facebook user we are. If the system keeps track of how many users have signed up to play this game, it can show what # we were when we signed up! Just a thought! OR! Maybe a personal profile can be an option users can make that’ll showcase their cars (or this can be used together with the “show car” edition to the game when our cars are displayed?), what member number they are, what month/day/year they joined, along with their VDI, rank #, win/loss record, what mods they’ve done to each of their cars (or single car, if this will be used during a car show?), engine specs, color scheme (if user has a custom paint job), and maybe the artists (if they have the extra time) can make interior shots so that us users can REALLY show off our custom seats, maybe custom interior color, what material was used, custom (Autometer) gauges, steering wheel, and possibly radio/sound system! If sound systems are going to be made, then you’re going to HAVE TO have the artists make a trunk for our cars, so that our custom bass set ups can be shown off in the “show car” part of vDream, that is, if and when it is made :)

Those are just a few ideas off the top of my head. I’m pretty sure some of the stuff I’m mentioned has probably already been talked about, or in the very least thought about :)
