February 24, 2009 Update: All Purpose Challenges
08:33am by Lijen (Site)
We here at vDream have decided to open up the flood gates and allow our users to send out 20 all purpose challenges everyday.
What this means is that, instead of having a max for each challenge type (1/4 Mile, Track, Endurance), you have a max of 20 daily challenges that you can send in whatever fashion you choose. For example, users with more friends might want to send out more endurance challenges and users with high power-to-weight ratios might want to stick to sending more 1/4 mile drag race challenges.
As usual, please let us know what you think about the policy shift and if you are having any problems with the updated system.

We love you. lol, now i dont have to browse through leaderboards to fill the 15 1/4 challenges. ill just simply challenge who’s slow in my Vette and leave the rest of the fast dudes to my GT3. and i dont need microsoft word opened everytime i challenge

I don’t care either way really, but i guess it makes it easier as all my cars are kind of 1/4 mile cars, just challenge and except. making my life one button easier :p

Not a bad idea however the game just lost its “total tuning” aspect. Before, a car that was competitive in both track and quarter did well, now you can build a car simply for one thing. Maybe thats not a bad idea, just makes it easy for people to max out a Vette for example and only send 1/4 mile challenges to slow cars.

Well that’s life James, total tuning is for beginners and people with little time on thier hands.. but for us guys with some more time and want more detailed gaming this is a good change…. but that means I have to soup up my evo or buy something a little faster on the track then the R8 by supra is good for the drag

I haven’t made up my mind on this one yet.
Your car is still going to need to be good all around, since you’re still going to get track challenges sent to you. This is why I am for being able to switch cars before accepting challenges. We can see people’s garages to see what they might respond with, and you know someone with a high vdi is going to have good cars; so there is nothing unfair about it imo.
Has the payout of each challenge been equalized or are they still different?
Oh, and bring back the Book Keeper! I miss being able to go over my stats and improve my racing techniques by them. its soo much harder to tell how parts affect a car by only seeing the results of accepted challenges.

Will, the payout is still the same as it was before, it has NOT been equalized.
ItalianSausage & Jack, we’re trying something different with this spot and wanted to reward the users that have been supporting vDream and helping us keep our servers alive with something exclusive and special. We really appreciate any $$ that you guys spend on the site because, believe it or not, vDream costs a decent amount of money to run. This does not give them any kind of unfair advantage or anything

I like the idea cause usually serious “tuners” build their car for one aspect of racing .It’s rare u see a sub 10sec quarter miler taking the turns at the track. (not saying its impossible before someone snaps). But theirs a lot of complaining as if people are tuning suspension and gear ratios and downforce, most peoples cars are maxed out any way. Just makes life easier for those who have cars that are track beasts like the rx7, lotus, and porshes to get some money instead of getting raped by saleens and corvettes all the time.
